
Dr. Lindsay Powers is a Board Certified Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at Truman Medical Centers, and is a member of University Physician Associates. Prior to medical school, she earned her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Kansas, where she studied microbiology and English. She then obtained her M.D from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, ranking at the top of her class and earning membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She continued her training with 6-year residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wright State University. After completing her residency she returned to Kansas City and spent 2 years in private practice while completing her board certification.
Dr. Powers enjoys practicing a broad spectrum of plastic surgery, but particularly enjoys breast reconstruction, skin cancer reconstruction, and cosmetic procedures of the breast and body. Dr. Powers’ caring and compassionate demeanor make her a stand out as she focuses on multi-faceted aspects of patient care and emphasizes the human side of medicine.
In addition to her plastic surgery career, Dr. Powers has a strong interest in gardening, and has been in involved with community gardening and neighborhood beautification projects. She has also travelled to Honduras and Haiti for medical missions trips during her training, and plans to continue this in the future.
